Our apartment

I just thought I'd put up some pictures of our apartment. We enjoy living here in Colorado, and our apartment has really begun to feel like home. We had a hard time trying to decide who was going to share a room once we moved. In Provo, Erik and Lily shared a room and had bunk beds. Most of the toys, and Drew's crib, were in another room. However, Erik has some internal radar that wakes him up everyday around 7:00. Some days it's even earlier. However, Lily is not such an early riser. The problem: Erik would wake up Lily when he got up because he wanted to play with her. She would then be grouchy because she didn't sleep long enough. This wasn't a huge issue when she was taking naps. Lately, we haven't been giving her a nap because when she does have one, she doesn't go to bed until at least 9:00! No nap means she needs to sleep longer or she is NO fun to be around after 5:00. So, we decided to put Drew and Lily in the same room because she doesn't wake up when he cries in the middle of the night. Erik has his own room again, along with all the toys. Now when he wakes up he can just play until 7:00 (that's when we told him he could get up...there were a few mornings when he'd come in our room around 6:00). This past week he's been in our room waking me up at 7:01! Well, I guess it is after 7:00! What a good kid! :) Please ignore any messes you see. I wanted to get pictures when the house was pretty clean, but that's easier said than done with 2 tornadoes!

Looking into the kitchen, from the dining room (front door is to the left.) The hallway to the bedrooms is to the right.

Our small kitchen. It's perfect...less to clean!

Erik's room (aka the toy room)

Drew and Lily's room

Our room. It's big enough that we even have our exercise bike over by the window, at the end of our long dresser. This is the biggest room we've ever had, so all our furniture (king size bed, long dresser, two night stands, exercise bike, and two bookshelves) actually fits in easily. We don't even have to turn sideways to scoot around the bed. Our bathroom is to the right, and I'm standing in the door of the walk-in closet.

This is the nicest apartment we've had, and we really hope we get to stay here for awhile. We'll see what happens....

I'm glad you are liking your new place. How do you like Broomfield? How is your ward? Do you have a lot of members in your area? We will have to come up and visit. You are also welcome here anytime.

We like Broomfield and would really like to be able to stay because we love the ward. This is probably the best ward, or one of the top three anyway, we've been in since we got married. Everyone is very friendly, and there's a good mix of families. Our ward has the smallest boundaries in the area, but in our immediate area (our complex) there aren't many members. However, there are many neighborhoods surrounding us that have members, so they aren't too far away. Lily's bday is Feb. 21 (a Saturday) and we're doing a little party with dinner, cake, etc. Don't have details yet, but you guys are more than welcome to come. We'd love to see you!
