For those of you who may not be familiar with the story it's about the activities a boy imagines his snowman, along with all the neighborhood snowmen, participated in during the night, since he (the snowman) was a little droopy and not in quite the same position as he was when he (the boy) went to bed. He imagines they drink cold cocoa, play baseball, have sled races and make snow angels. Then the snowmen make their way back to their lawns just before dawn. Very cute.
Anyway, Lily's class read this book each day for an entire week. One of the class activities was to make a class book about what snowmen do at night. I had not worked in her class for a couple weeks, so I wasn't there during this activity. She showed me the book, and I was so proud of her! See if you can figure out why.

This drawing was so good. I could actually tell the cookies on the plate had chips in them! Her illustration was one of the few that actually "matched" the child's sentence.

To brag about Erik just a bit... his last report card was FANTASTIC!!! On a scale of 1-4, he scored 3s and 4s.... in every area!! A 3 means proficient achievement and a 4 means advanced achievement. He also got Good or Excellent in all subject areas. He is so smart!! We are very proud of him as well. Keep it up Erik!
Drew is now just about 19 months old. He walks/runs everywhere and is also one very smart cookie. He still doesn't say anything other than ma-ma-ma-ma or da-da-da-da. But, he does understand 90% of what we tell him. We'll say something about getting our shoes on and he'll follow us, in front, down the hall to our closet and get our shoes for us! He is starting to make a few other sounds, but no words. He doesn't have any bottom teeth yet either! We took him to the dentist last month and they got an xray of his bottom gums. There are teeth there, so that's good. The dentist thought there might be 5 teeth in front instead of the normal 4, but he wasn't too cooperative during the xray so it's hard to tell for sure. If he does have an extra tooth the dentist said they might not be coming through because they are too squished and don't have room. We're hoping that by his next appointment in 5 months they have come in so we don't have to look at any surgery to remove the tooth BEFORE they come in. It's much easier to pull a tooth that's already come in than one that isn't showing. At least the lack of bottom teeth hasn't hindered his eating. He will eat ANYTHING you put in front of him... well maybe 90% of food we give him. He's not a fan of fish.
