December 2011

New Christmas pjs

Once again I'm behind on blogging. I have decided I procrastinate updating this thing because I absolutely HATE having to use Picasa to upload my pictures. iPhoto was so much more user friendly. I can't figure out where Picasa saves modified photos (the ones that I rotate so they are upright). So, on that note, here are some pictures from December, which consisted mostly of Christmas and Erik's 8th birthday. If any of the pictures are sideways I apologize. But, as I said before, I can't figure out where the correct ones are. Just turn your head and pretend everything is ok. :)

Christmas Eve
At one point Drew decided he wanted to wear Daniel's hat. Then the other kids wanted hats. Eventually, we all ended up wearing one of Dad's hats. The kids thought it was hilarious.

Reading the Christmas story and acting it out using little figurines. I figured this would work better with our kids than actually acting it out. They loved it.

Christmas Morning
Opening presents, playing with the boxes and Alex enjoying his new saucer/jumper.

Erik's Birthday

Waiting for cake. As you can tell from the picture below, Alex liked the cake (frosting) as much as the other kids.
I can't believe I have an 8 year old! Erik is smart, works hard in school, loves to read, loves to be wild and play outside and is a great helper and big brother, most of the time. I am so proud of the choices he has made. He is excited to get baptized! He is a fabulous boy and has an awesome smile. He tends to be a bit bossy and has to have things just so. He doesn't like surprises or anything out of the norm. We are working on that, but he is a joy to have in our family and we love him so much!
Happy birthday, Erik! We love you!

Hope your Christmas was amazing! We can hardly believe that we have 8 year olds either. The twins were baptized on Christmas Eve and it was incredible. Can't wait to hear about Erik's big day too. Miss you all.
